The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Twins SP Scott Baker threw seven shutout innings in his win Sunday, Sept. 28. Baker finished his breakout season 11-4 with a 3.45 ERA.
News: Twins SP Scott Baker gave up only four hits and one walk in seven shutout innings Sunday against the Royals, earning his 11th victory. He matched a career high with nine strikeouts and went 4-0 in his final six starts.

The Twins needed a big outing from Baker, and they got one. The 27-year-old right-hander closes out a rock-solid 2008 campaign with a 3.45 ERA and a sparkling 141/42 K/BB ratio and will be an intriguing late-round target in shallow mixed leagues next year.
Scott Baker finished off a very good season with seven innings of shutout pitching in a must-win game against the Royals. He struck nine batters and allowed just five baserunners in the 6-0 victory.Baker started 28 games for the Twins and only lost four times. Although his numbers are not particularly gaudy, he was very consistent. He did not have an ERA over 4.00 in any month but April. He finishes the regular season with a 3.45 mark.
