The Sports Network reports the Philadelphia Phillies activated P Scott Mathieson (elbow) and RP Michael Zagurski (elbow) from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, Nov. 4.

News: The Phillies activated LHP Mike Zagurski and RHP Scott Mathieson from the 60-day disabled list. They are both recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Analysis: Mathieson was once a well-regarded prospect, but now he is nothing more than a serious reclamation project after a second Tommy John surgery last May. He won't be a candidate to pitch in the majors until the second half of 2009 at this point and might never live up to his once promising potential

According to The Sports Xchange notes: RHP Scott Mathieson (Tommy John surgery in September 2006) opened the season on the 15-day DL. He had another Tommy John operation May 15 and won't return for at least one year.
