Gallagher has responded beautifully from his dreadful 10-run outing courtesy of the Twins on Aug. 19, as he blanked the Tigers over four hit-free innings in his return start on Sept. 10. He still holds some risky, especially with an anemic offense by his side, but he's certainly one to watch when he takes his 5.16 ERA to spacious McAfee Coliseum for a showdown with the Mariners next.

News: Oakland SP Sean Gallagher (2-2) had his best start in a while for the A's on Tuesday in a win over the Angels. Gallagher allowed just one run on four hits over seven strong innings. He walked none and had six K's.
Analysis: Gallagher hadn't won a game since beating the same Angels on July 11. This was far and away his best game in a long time for the A's. A nice sign. Still, we don't trust it. He remains a risky mixed league Fantasy starter from now until the end of the year. Gallagher made the folks who started him in this two-start week happy, however. His next scheduled start comes Sunday against Seattle for a chance for a great numbers week

Sean Gallagher made his second appearance since being activated from the DL (shoulder fatigue) on Tuesday night and pitched very well against the AL West champion Angels. He tossed seven innings allowing just one run on four hits. He struck out seven. This was arguably Gallagher's best appearance of the season and is something positive for the young starter to build upon. He is just 22 years-old but will likely become a member of the A's opening day rotation next season.
