It might be awhile before the Braves make a decision regarding either hurler. Glavine underwent season-ending elbow surgery in August and still doesn't know whether he'll be physically capable to continue pitching at his desired level. As for Hampton, he resuscitated his career after returning to the mound on July 26, after being sidelined for nearly three full years because of multiple injuries.

Finally, Andrews also checked out Glavine's left shoulder and verified there was no damage to the rotator cuff, just minor scraping in the rotator cuff and labrum. Glavine will be performing range-of-motion and passive-resistance exercises for his elbow and shoulder.
