Tom Glavine has been told to rest his sore left elbow for the next 4-6 weeks. The program includes total rest for two weeks before the veteran begins strengthening exercises, according to the AP. Glavine said two MRI exams have confirmed the ligament in the elbow is strong, but the problem is the flexor tendon, which is pulling away from the bone.Glavine could face a difficult decision if he's not ready to take the mound by the break. He could either have surgery and be ready for 2009 or continue to rest in the hope that he could help the Braves later in the year.
