Buck finished the season on an absolute roll, posting five straight multi-hit efforts that pushed his batting average over the Mendoza Line. His season-ending .226 average is far from stellar, but his .367 mark in September shows that the 24-year-old could be a decent AL option next season if he receives a full-time role.
Travis Buck went 3-for-5 with a solo homer against the Mariners on Sunday. Buck is 18-for-49 with four homers since being recalled from the minors on September 16. Injuries and poor performance have made for a disappointing year for Buck, but he's still capable of being an average corner outfielder. The Athletics figure to give him another chance in 2009, making him an undervalued pick in AL-only leagues.

He went on the DL retroactive to April 19 with shin splints, then missed time two more times in June and July with a concussion.
