Padres claimed infielder Travis Denker off waivers from the Giants. The Giants were able to sneap Ivan Ochoa through waivers, but they lost another one of the infielders they rushed to the majors this year. Denker hit .243/.333/.486 in 37 at-bats with the Giants between May 21 and July 11, but he never got another look after that. He finished at .282/.373/.468 in 220 at-bats for Triple-A Fresno. He's not a great defensive second baseman, so he's a long shot to have a lengthy career as a regular. Still, he's quality depth for a team that needs it.Related: Giants
