Troy Glaus could miss the rest of the week after undergoing an MRI on Wednesday and getting a second cortisone injection for a strained right shoulder. Glaus just had a cortisone shot on Sunday, but that one apparently didn't get to the right area. "This time, they know exactly where it is," Glaus said. "It’s hurt for a while and we tried to get through it but at some point we couldn’t calm it down enough." Aaron Miles and Felipe Lopez will get extra at-bats in his place.Related: Felipe Lopez, Aaron Miles

News: Cardinals 3B Troy Glaus will miss at least a handful of games after undergoing an MRI exam Wednesday and getting a second cortisone injection for a strained right shoulder.
Analysis: Glaus is someone to consider starting at 3B in all Fantasy leagues at all times, so this is not a good thing to see if he's on your team. You'll want to track the injury through the weekend and if he can't get back into the lineup before Sunday, you might consider keeping him reserved in Fantasy Week 25 (Sept. 15-21)

He hopes to be sidelined for only a few days. Glaus has been dealing with pain in his shoulder for about three weeks, but he aggravated the condition on a swing in Tuesday night's win over the Cubs. He was examined on Wednesday, when he received the diagnosis as well as a cortisone shot in the joint.

Updating an earlier report, Troy Glaus's ailing shoulder is the result of a rotator cuff strain and tendintits, according to Cardinals.com. "If the medication does what it's supposed to do, then in two or three days it will be fine," Glaus said. "Then we can strengthen it and keep going."Well that certainly is good news considering how bad the injury sounds. There has been a lot of speculation that Glaus might be done for the year, but it appears he will play if he can tolerate the pain. He hopes to be able to return this weekend.
