Rodriguez surrenders five runs
Rodriguez cruises through eight frames
Wandy Rodriguez struck out a career high nine batters, and pitched eight solid innings to get the win for Houston in their 7-2 triumph over the Rangers according to the Associated Press.Rodriguez has had a very good season, don't reflect that. His performance this season has made him someone to think about acquiring for fantasy purposes, as his ERA and strikeout capabilities make him an attractive option.
Wandy takes loss despite no earned runs
Houston's Wandy Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings in his second start after coming off the disabled list in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Pittsburgh. The southpaw gave up five hits, struck out three and walked one in the pitcher's duel lowering his ERA to 2.38 on the year.

Rodriguez struggles in return to mound
Wandy Rodriguez (groin) was recalled from his rehab assignment and the 15-day DL to start Wednesday at St. Louis.
Wandy Rodriguez returns from DL
When Wandy Rodriguez returns from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday, Chris Sampson will be the odd man out in the Astros rotation. Manager Cecil Cooper said Tuesday that Brian Moehler, who's made four solid starts since Rodriguez was sidelined by a left groin injury on April 20, will be the fifth starter. That pushes Sampson, 3-3 with a 6.04 ERA to the bullpen. "He says at this point it's maybe not permanent," Sampson said. "It may be permanent. This game is a funny game and anything can happen. I'm not going to get down. I'm still here in the big leagues, still living a dream."
Rodriguez expected to return Wednesday
Astros' Rodriguez makes rehab start
Injured SP Wandy Rodriguez (groin) made his first and possibly only rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi Thursday. Rodriguez pitched six strong innings against Arkansas, allowing one run and four hits. He walked one and allowed a home run. He threw 78 pitches, 53 for strikes, and was in line for the win before a late-inning bullpen collapse. "It looks like he was efficient with his pitches," manager Cecil Cooper told MLB.com. "He threw a lot of strikes. Six innings is what we were looking for. I'm very pleased."
The Houston Chronicle reports Lefthander Wandy Rodriguez, who has been on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin muscle, threw a bullpen session Monday and is in line to make a rehab start Thursday at Double-A Corpus Christi. Astros general manager Ed Wade says he has been told by trainer Dave Labossiere that Rodriguez no longer has a groin problem.
