Kendall led the Majors with 149 starts, the most by any catcher since Montreal's Gary Carter started 151 games in 1982. But his success all but ends there, as the 34-year-old produced the lowest slugging percentage among everyday catchers (.327) without contributing one major category. With his 110th start, Kendall vested a contract option for 2008, so he will be back behind the dish for Milwaukee.

Brad Nelson hit his sixth and seventh homers of the DWL season on Saturday. Nelson is batting .304/.381/.804 in 17 games. It looks like he'll stick on the Brewers' 40-man roster this winter after making his major league debut in September and serving as a pinch-hitter in the NLDS. Still, he not going to make a lot of sense for Milwaukee's 25-man roster next year.

"We were a little concerned with Branyan's health, though he looked fine today in [batting practice]," manager Dale Sveum said of Branyan who missed most of September due to a strained right oblique.Branyan hit 12 home runs in 132 AB, but other than the occasional long ball, he has little value. Weeks did little in 2008 to convince his critics that he is a viable second baseman, and he was finally bounced from the leadoff spot in mid-September after Dale Sveum took over as manager. Weeks struck out 115 times in fewer than 500 at-bats, and while his .342 on-base percentage was impressive given his batting average, it still ranked 15th of the 17 Major Leaguers who amassed at least 450 plate appearances in the leadoff hole. The constant strikeouts even led the Brewers to acquire another second basman, Ray Durham. So while the power/speed combo makes him an appealing option, it'll take a much better average for Weeks to provide across-the-board fantasy value.

Casey McGehee went 4-for-5 with a homer and two doubles Tuesday for Culican of the MPL. McGehee has an 848 OPS in 101 at-bats in Mexico, but it's all because of what he's done against lefties. He's batting .483/.516/1.413 in 29 at-bats versus southpaws and .264/.270/.347 in 72 at-bats against righties. Obviously, his splits aren't always so extreme.
