Updating a previous report, Jon Heyman, of SportsIllustrated.com, reports New York Mets CL Billy Wagner (elbow) will undergo surgery on his elbow and will be out for roughly one year. The team disclosed that Wagner has tears of the flexor pronator and medial collateral ligament of his left elbow. He will likely miss the entire 2009 season as well as the rest of this season. Wagner felt intense pain on the 15th pitch of a side session Sunday, Sept. 7.
