Mike Fitzpatrick, of The Associated Press, reports Philadelphia Phillies SP Brett Myers pitched eight strong innings Friday, Sept. 5, to earn the win. He gave up just three hits while striking out 10 and winning his fourth straight start. He is 6-1 in nine starts since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley July 20 and has not given up a run in three of his last four starts.
