Huston Street : October 15th, 2008, 11:20 am est
Street lost his closer's job during Ziegler's record run of 39 scoreless innings, but Devine put up better numbers than Ziegler in the end, and Devine's power arm profiles better as a closer. Street will be making more than his 2008 salary of $3.3 million, and he was on the trading block at midseason, so the A's might look to move him over the winter. If they don't, Street might have to settle for sharing setup duties with Ziegler. The rest of the bullpen jobs will be wide open next spring unless the A's pick up their option on Alan Embree, who was reduced to a mopup role late in the year.
