Johnny Cueto : September 7th, 2008, 12:45 am est
News: Reds SP Johnny Cueto, a rookie who missed his last start because of elbow soreness, was able to start on Saturday against the Cubs. The result was not a good one. Cueto (8-13) allowed five runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. He walked one and had three K's. He allowed two homers.
Analysis: Cueto had a great start to his rookie year, but he has battled himself and injuries in the second half. Consider him a sleeper in deeper leagues down the stretch, but we really wouldn't be surprised if the Reds eventually shut him down early to be cautious with his young arm. His next scheduled start comes Friday at Arizona and Brandon Webb. Webb will be looking for his fourth chance at notching 20 wins
