Jon Lester : October 13th, 2008, 11:10 pm est
News: Red Sox SP Jon Lester, who hadn't allowed an earned run in four previous postseason outings -- including last year's World Series clincher against Colorado -- gave up four earned runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings Monday in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Rays. He gave up an unearned run on Varitek's passed ball in the second, then caused his own problems in the third. 'I think some people come to expect you to go out there every single day and be a robot and do it,' outfielder Jason Bay said. 'Unfortunately, that's not the case.' Lester walked two and struck out seven in the loss.
Analysis: Lester won 16 games in 2008 to become a top 20 Fantasy starting pitcher, according to our initial rankings for 2009. He is a near-ace for all formats already and has the upside to improve at age 24. Don't worry too much about one bad performance in the playoffs
