News: The Padres opened space on their 40-man roster on Monday when catcher Josh Bard and SP Shawn Estes cleared outright waivers and chose to become free agents.

Analysis: Bard was limited to 57 games because of injuries. He sprained his left ankle when Albert Pujols slid into him at home plate on May 21, sidelining him until late July. He also was sidelined in August with a strained right triceps. Bard hit .202 with one homer and 16 RBI. He likely isn't worth drafting in Fantasy next season
