Manny Delcarmen : September 8th, 2008, 2:50 pm est
News: RHP Manny Delcarmen leads the Sox in appearances this season with a career-high 65, and he has posted a career-high 63 innings pitched. The 26-year-old reliever -- after surrendering a home run Sunday afternoon -- has allowed only one earned run in his past 11 1/3 innings pitched, and he is enjoying a dominant stretch in what has becoming a consistently streaky season. Delcarmen's previous major league highs were 50 games and 53 1/3 innings pitched, but the young righty appears to be responding well to the heavy workload.
Analysis: Delcarmen is a solid young arm, but he is nothing more than a low-end middle reliever for the deepest of AL-only leagues that use true middle men down the stretch
