The Orange County Register indicates that the Yankees may be the frontrunner to land first baseman Mark Teixeira in the off-seeason. Des Martini of examiner.com lists the Angels as 7-1 favorites to keep him beyond this season, and the Yankees have 2-1 odds. The Orioles (3-1 odds), Mariners (16-1), and Giants (17-1) are also known teams that will be targeting Teixeira.It is unknown exactly what factors were used to generate those odds. It is clear that the Angels will not let the elite first baseman go easily. He is young, and has been healthier than Vlad Guerrero and Garret Anderson. He is a better defender as well.
