Troy E. Renck, of The Denver Post, reports the Colorado Rockies declined the $2.5 million option on RP Matt Herges Tuesday, Oct. 7. The team has exercised a $250,000 buyout, according to a representative from the Beverly Hills Sports Council. Herges can still re-sign with the team as a free agent.
