Cubs recalled first baseman Micah Hoffpauir from Triple-A Iowa. Hoffpauir was one of the PCL's best players and he has hit .378 in 37 at-bats for the Cubs this season, but it's been hard finding room for him in the majors. He'll be used as a pinch-hitter for now, and he could take Daryle Ward's job next year.
