Ryan Sweeney : August 29th, 2008, 11:00 am est
News: The Sports Xchange notes that Ryan Sweeney was activated from the disabled list Thursday and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run, lifting his average to a team-high .291.
Analysis: Sweeney went on the DL on Aug. 13 with a sprained right thumb, and he had played in only one rehab game. But with the A's lacking offense, he was recalled when he became pain-free and was able to swing a bat freely. Sweeney makes good contact, can post a high average and should get regular at-bats down the stretch. Consider him a sleeper for deeper AL-only leagues
