Astros SP Shawn Chacon pitched eight scorless innings Tuesday against the Phillies and turned the game over to Jose Valverde in the ninth inning with a 3-0 lead. Bad move by Houston. Valverde blew Chacon's win and Philadelphia rallied for a 4-3 win. Chacon allowed only four singles. He last pitched eight innings on Sept. 23, 2005, against the Toronto Blue Jays. This time, he struck out five and walked two as he lowered his ERA to 2.25.
