Hoffman, who turned 41 on Monday, is eligible to file for free agency at the end of the World Series, though the Padres would just as soon rather that didn't happen. Hoffman converted 30 saves in 34 opportunities this past season to go with a 3.77 ERA and a 46/9 K/BB ratio. It was the 13th time he saved at least 30 games, extending his own Major League record.
