News: Victor Martinez drove in all three Cleveland runs Sunday. Martinez had elbow surgery on June 13. After Royals right-hander Zack Greinke (10-10) retired the first two batters of the game, the Indians stroked three consecutive singles for two runs. Shin-soo Choo, who went 2-for-3 and is hitting .500 in his 11-game hitting streak, began it with a single to center. He stopped at second on Jhonny Peralta's single. Martinez had an 11-pitch at-bat, fouling off five pitches with two strikes, before lacing a single to right center, scoring both Choo and Peralta. 'On 3-2, I don't try to do too much, but just trying to put the barrel of the bat on the ball and see what happens,' Martinez said. 'I was just doing the best I could there. Greinke is a pretty good pitcher. I was just fouling pitches and he was making good pitches and finally I got a good pitch to hit.'
Analysis: Since returning from the disabled list Aug. 29, V-Mart is 7-for-21 with six RBI. He is a solid start in all leagues for Fantasy Week 24 (Sept. 8-14) -- especially at the thin catcher position. The good news he can get at-bats at the DH position, although a pending return of Travis Hafner this week could move him back behind the plate some more
