Yovani Gallardo : October 5th, 2008, 10:35 pm est
News: Brewers SP Yovani Gallardo, who started Game 1 of the NLDS against the Phillies after missing most of the season with a knee injury, relieved Jeff Suppan in Game 4 on Sunday and kept the Phillies in check, not allowing another hit until the seventh inning. He pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and recording one strikeout.
Analysis: Gallardo is proving healthy again as he builds his arm back up. Consider him a great injury-risk sleeper for spring 2009 at this point. We optimistically ranking him as the No. 35 best starting pitcher in our initial rankings for 2009, and you can understand why considering he went 9-5 with a 3.67 ERA as a rookie in 2007
