The San Francisco Giants have purchased the contract of third baseman Conor Gillaspie, their sandwich pick and the 37th overall selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, from short-season Salem-Keizer, the club announced today. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Giants have outrighted outfielder Clay Timpner to triple-A Fresno.
